Happy Birth-iversary to us!

Today is my (Jess's) birthday and tomorrow is our 6-year anniversary! Out of all the years of our marriage, including cross-country moves, working in the Washington D.C. metro area during Sept. 11th, and the adjustment of having children, this last year has by far exceeded all the rest in terms of having the most drastic changes. Here we are, one year later, having made it through: the three final months of living in our home in Texas, a time of training and reflection in Virginia, book-ended by Baxter's hospitalization from rotovirus and the bad vaccine neurological reaction by Doug (hospitalized for a week!), moving overseas, going to another country to have a baby, having Maranatha, coming back to this country, only to pack up our former apartment and move here to our home. WOW. What a year. And there's no one either of us would have rather done it all with. What a blessing from God to have been given such a love, such a family, such a marriage, and such a life together! Blessings to you and your family as we celebrate two important days in our family's life this weekend!

Happy Anniversary and Happy Birthday! We're remembering the entire family in prayer. For a future blog, we'd be interested to know what sort of a network you have there -- whether you're "alone" or have others with whom you can converse on topics of shared belief.

Thanks for being so faithful in taking us with you on your adventure. These blogs are wonderful (and you're a great writer). :-)

What a beautiful picture of both of you!!!!! I love it!!! You have had an "exciting" year, and I'm thrilled that you have had each other during this journey! I'm so glad that I've been able to share some of it with you! Love you, Mom

Today is your anniversary?! That's wonderful. It's my mom's birthday and I am going to a wedding tonight. (Interestingly, six years ago, you got married one week before my brother. Just a fun factoid.) I will be thinking of you guys and lifting you up especially on this day.

Congratulations! (And that really is a fabulous picture.)

Congratulations!! and Happy Birthday, Jessica!
You two have experienced more together in 6 years than most people have experienced in 20 or 30, with moving from country to country and the major lifestyle changes that have occured. To Him be all glory!

This December, Ben and I will celebrate our 9th anniversary, Christmas, and his 32nd birthday within 1 week. I think making such big moves in life definitely helps you to grow closer to one another. Congrats!
