Friends

Tonight, my mom (Jessica's mom- Debbie) surprised me by having a virtual birthday party for me over the computer. She had her home decorated with balloons and streamers and had 4 of my close friends from Texas there in her home, ready to surprise me over video-webcam. What a treasure! We talked for over an hour, and it was so wonderful to be reminded of the people that know me and love me. And though it took me awhile to recover after we hung up, there is such a delight in knowing that we have eternity to share these conversations. That this lifetime ain't all there is (a little bit of Texan-speak comin out!). I love those women, and I know them; I'm so thankful to have friends like them. And I'm so thankful to have such a thoughtful mom. I feel emotionally drained right now, but in such a good way. Even if we're thousands of miles and many hours apart, what a blessing to have friends and family like the ones I've been blessed with!
