A Day at the Lake - pt.1

This was the view out of the front of our yurt where we ate our lunch. Since the real yurts were already being packed up to head down to the valley for the winter, we got in out of the cold and had lunch in a fake yurt (they have these for tourism purposes- much the same way you'd find fake teepees in some places out in the Western U.S.).

Ethan and I rode a horse for a while (Ethan's 3rd new animal to ride this year-- first, an elephant, then a camel, and now this!)

Kazakh shepherds and their sheep dotted the hills

A real yurt home we passed on the way back down the mountain

I am totally cracking up right now. Last week we were playing this new game that my mom brought us where you have to create words. She had Y-U to start and we all doubted she had a word. She replied "yurt" and we all challenged her and had to look it up on dictionary.com. Now a week later you are there in a yurt -- too funny!

It's not every kid that can say he rode a camel and elephant before riding a horse -- very cool!!!
