I scream, you scream, we all scream...
After a long day getting our Thailand visas and wandering the city, Ethan asked for ice cream, and we had seen a shop offering Haagen Dazs (incredible that it would even be here). So we got a taxi and pointed to the center spot of this town- the main tourist area, shopping area, etc.- the spot on the map where every taxi driver should know. Well, this guy studied it and acted like he knew, then about 3 minutes later at a stoplight, asked Doug for the map again, and studied it some more, scratching his head (really, no exaggeration!). After passing up every possible road that we knew would get us there, we opted to get out and walk the rest of the way. So we walked a LONG ways (because he had already gone too far). Finally, after a long walk (I'm sure it seemed even longer to 4 little legs also making the trek!), we made it to the Haagen Dazs shop! We walked up to the 3rd floor and sat down in a very ultra-swank place. THAT should have been our first clue. They brought us a menu with their offerings, and chocolate and cookies and cream were among them, and at $5 a scoop, we thought, well, we'll splurge this once and enjoy it. So we got 3 scoops, one for Doug, one for me, and one for Ethan. Well, here's a peek at the heaping scoop of chocolate that they brought out to us after quite a wait:(The "scoop" is on the saucer--not plate--in between the apple and pear slices!) Stifling our giggles, we thanked them, cancelled our order of the other 2 "scoops", all enjoyed one little sliver of the chocolate, and then went across the sidewalk to the McDonald's and got 3 ice cream cones, with all three costing us the massive sum of ONE dollar!

Mmm, yummy? ;) It's too bad there was no Dairy Queen close! It's Brownie Batter Blizzard month. (Is that mean to tell a pregnant woman?) LOVE the beautiful pictures of the temporary home city! Thanks for sharing them! Wishing you safe travels and soon, a speedy delivery!
Too funny!!!
