Lotsa Mozzarella
Cheese is hard to come by here, but as you all well know, cheese is central to much of American cooking: pasta sauces, Mexican food, sandwiches, Italian food, etc. So, we buy mozzarella in big 5-kilogram blocks (bigger than a shoebox) from the big city in our region and then cut up the large block into about 20 small pieces in an assembly-line fashion. Then, I can freeze them, and thaw them out as needed to use in recipes, pizzas, etc. While it's not as easy as buying and keeping cheese in the US, we are SO grateful to be able to have things that taste like home!

"SO grateful"
pun intended?
Oh, I should be so clever. It must've been a subliminally-intended pun. With a father like mine (the pun-master), it just flows through me like blood through my veins! :)
