You say goodbye, I say hello
Well, after countless days without internet, we're finally online again!
In our old city, we said goodbye to friends, young and younger:
A sad goodbye to Jessica's language tutor, who the kids had grown fond of as well:
And now we're saying hello to a new place! These 2 youngest members of our family are getting used to the new apartment:And check out this daredevil installation man (we're on the 6th floor) hanging out our window... The rope is on the compressor, not the man!--he was just balancing on a little 8-inch ledge. We are really enjoying being here- this is a smaller city, and is much less polluted, so we have parks and trees and blue skies to enjoy.
Yesterday, I (Jessica) went shopping with a lady who has lived here for 8 years. I bought beef off a cut hanging at a butcher's shop (that's a first!), corn flour out of a large bag at a vegetable market (used it later to make corn bread that turned out EXCELLENT), and we actually found some random melamine bowls and plates- some had Bob the Builder on them (great find for the boys), and some had LSU and U of Arkansas football mascot designs on them... so we bought them in honor of my dad (an LSU fan) and our own family's beginnings in Arkansas. CRAZY what you can find on a shopping trip in the middle of nowhere in Asia! I'm sure we'll have some new things to share from time to time... so until next time...ta ta!
