Different strokes for different folks
Before Maranatha gets too big, I've been wanting to show you all an outfit she was given by one of our friends. This is a very common type of outfit for newborns here, but I've slightly altered it:You see, she has a onesie on underneath this outfit, but they would not do so. In fact, they would not even wear a diaper. I'm not saying that they wouldn't wear a disposable diaper, no--they would not wear a diaper at all. I used to wonder how they did that without having to change the blanket or the mom's outfits all day long... because goodness knows that babies make frequent use of their good plumbing! But about a month ago, I saw a mom with a young baby and she had a strip of cloth that she draped over her arm, and then held the baby up so that his bottom was right on that strip of cloth. It's definitely less expensive than disposable diapers, and I guess it's a little easier than even cloth diapers, because there's no "on" and "off". (Nevertheless, I'm still using disposables!) :)
Anyway, here's a picture of what the back looks like... course, Maranatha has on that onesie and a diaper underneath, so you'll just have to imagine the view we get of little babies from time to time::) It's quite a sight and it still surprises us everytime we spy a little bottom hanging out! :)

Wow! That is so interesting! It sure does save a lot of money though.
